Because people couldn't create more than 4 characters for quite some time they needed more accounts. Almost everyone I know has at least 2 accounts.
One to play with and the others are pure storage. Anet happily advertises with xx-million copies sold and players who you can play with. It's a joke. And since they don't ask monthly payment for GW2... they will do some moneymaking stunts again if you ask me.

I have 1 account that I play with. I have no collector editions and no BMP.
I regret that I bought the Ursan Blessing add-on because it added even less to PvP (which I loved this game for).

1 full, one prophesies only, the second one is pure storage and was set to american severs while my original was on euro. This i did back in the day when america always had the favor. Offcourse as soon as i had my monk 55 ready on that account euro started to always have the favor.

First account Prophecies GotY, Factions, Nightfall, EotN (with prerelease), BMP and then Nightfall CE because I wanted the extras.

Second account same as first, plus skill unlock packs, minus NF CE and BMP.

First account is an officer in a Luxon guild/alliance.
Second owns a Kurzick guild-of-one mostly for crossover purposes.

It's admirable that you're trying to keep ANet financially afloat while they work on GW2, but where do you get the time to use all those accounts?

Two accounts here, one full and the other is prophesies and factions. Does make me wonder about ANet's claims about units sold and not mentioning the actual number of players...

I knew of the game at 2006. Otherwise I would also have Prophecies CE.
I think that's unfair. I didn't even had Internet connection until 2006.

I also have ALL existing DirectSong upgrades.
